🌲 Environment Day🌲 For World Environment Day, the 🌲 Environment Day🌲 For World Environment Day, the children learnt how to sort out the recycling and loved wearing hi vis and using the litter pickers. They made their very own windmills and we talked about wind power and wind turbines. The children loved playing fairies and creating their own fairy houses. 🌲 Hapa Zome🌲 Our Woodland Explorers have been lear 🌲 Hapa Zome🌲 Our Woodland Explorers have been learning about 'hapa zome' which is a Japanese technique where the pigment from leaves and petals dye the fabric. 🌲 Bee Day🌲 In recognition of World Bee Day, the ch 🌲 Bee Day🌲 In recognition of World Bee Day, the children have been making their own wooden bees. They learnt how to use the saw and the hand drill and added their own bee designs. We finished the session by learning a new bee song and eating bee themed chocolate pancakes! It was a great chance for them to learn how to use tools safely and they did an amazing job using the loppers to cut their stick and the peelers to whittle their wand. They added their choice of wool after to make a truly unique and personalised wand. Well done everyone. 🌲Wildlife Day🌲 We've been celebrating World Wildl 🌲Wildlife Day🌲 We've been celebrating World Wildlife Day this week at @kingfishersforestschool so we got crafty making binoculars to spot some local wildlife. The children enjoyed looking for the animals around the forest on their scavenger hunt and looking for bugs in our play tray hidden in the woodchip.
