Become a ‘Woodland Explorer’ for the morning by joining us for a Half Term Special!

Teddy Bears Picnic

Bring along your favourite teddy for a teddy bears picnic at Kingfishers Forest School this half term. 

On Sunday 26th May we will be welcoming families and their teddy’s to the woods for a special forest school session. 

What to expect:

  • A trail of famous bears to follow
  • Have a picnic with our woodland teddy’s
  • Play pin the heart on the teddy bear
  • Make a flower and leaf crown to wear to the picnic (maybe make a small one for your teddy too!)
  • Gather around the fire for teddy bear pancakes and a story

We have two sessions available on Sunday 26th May:

Session 1: 9.15am – 10.30am

Session 2: 11.00am – 12.15am

For children aged 1-7 and their parents. 

Price: £9.80 per child

*  30% additional sibling discount automatically applied when booking.

The Hungry Caterpillar

Become a ‘Woodland Explorer’ for the morning by joining us for our very exciting The Very Hungry Caterpillar Half term special. Choose from 9:15-10:30 or 11:00-12:15 on Saturday 1st June.
– This Forest School session is aimed at children aged 1-7 years, with discounted sibling tickets available.

This Half Term Special session will include:

  • Caterpillar art activity
  • Hungry Caterpillar themed mud kitchen
  • Caterpillar cafe role play
  • Hungry Caterpillar themed sensory water play
  • Butterfly tattoo station
  • Observe a stage of the butterfly lifecycle
  • Grab a clipboard and search for the characters in the forest
  • Hungry Caterpillar themed snack
  • Story and song time

All of our free flow activities will be available for your little one to enjoy such as our mud kitchen, digging bed, skittles, play shop,  cars and ramps, swing, seesaw and climbing equipment and much more!

Children’s Holiday Clubs

Kingfishers’ partners, Woodland Adventure, have been running Forest School Holiday Club provision at Willsbridge Mill for over a year now, after a successful seven years of running their business in north Bristol.

Holiday club is for ages 5-11.

Frequently Asked Questions:

It there a toilet?

There is a compost toilet in our woodland and a public toilet with changing facilities at the cafe, which is open Weds-Sunday.

Is there buggy parking?

There is no buggy parking under cover so please bring your pram rain cover. We can offer tarpaulins to drape over your prams as an extra cover if you need them. Alternatively, bring your little one in a sling or walk to us, where possible!

Parking & Location

Our private Forest School is situated in the woodland behind the cafe.

Please be aware that it can take a little while to walk to us from the car park, which is situated on Long Beach Road.

Please avoid blocking the road by parking within the Willsbridge Mill site itself, as it prevents the bin collectors and cafe delivery drivers from accessing the Mill
